Dr. Ronald Hoffman is one of the pioneers of complementary and alternative medicine, having established the Hoffman Center in 1985 as one of New York’s first comprehensive practices for the delivery of innovative medical care.
When he is not busy seeing patients and supervising his team of health professionals at the Hoffman Center, Dr. Hoffman hosts Health Talk, a popular nationally-syndicated radio program that covers topics such as innovations in high-tech medicine, diet, supplements, lifestyle and exercise. He is also the author of several health books and handbooks and has contributed to publications like Cosmopolitan magazine, the New Life Times, and Conscious Choice, in addition to being quoted in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Self, New York Magazine and Bazaar. He is a past President of the country’s largest organization of complementary and alternative doctors, the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM). Dr. Hoffman is a popular lecturer to the public and to health professionals – he has presented at workshops for the ACAM and the American Association for Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), guest lectured to medical students at medical schools, and addressed the United Nations Council on the Health of Women and Children.
Dr. Hoffman endeavors to maintain a healthy lifestyle consistent with his beliefs. He is an inveterate exerciser and athlete. Dr. Hoffman was raised in Southern California, and came to New York City to attend Columbia College, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. He received his M.D. from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, after which he trained in Internal Medicine at the Manhattan V.A. Hospital. He then attended the Tristate School of Traditional Chinese Medicine and obtained New York State certification to perform acupuncture. He is a Fellow of the American College for Advancement in Medicine and the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, and is a Certified Nutrition Specialist of the American College of Nutrition (ACN).
Dr. Hoffman serves on the Board of Directors of the Alliance for Natural Health, and the Professional Advisory Committee to Emerson Ecologics.
He is the author of several books including Seven Weeks to a Settled Stomach; Tired All the Time: How to Regain Your Lost Energy; Intelligent Medicine; and How to Talk to Your Doctor (About Complementary and Alternative Medicine).
