Eating decadently delicious avocado is like having heart-healthy cake and eating it too! Rich in antioxidants glutathione and vitamin E, avocados can help us protect against inflammation caused by free radical stress. Avocados can also help increase HDL cholesterol while decreasing triglycerides. Although higher in calories than most fruits and vegetables, avocados are a source of healthy monounsaturated fat which our bodies need to function optimally. As such, they can also enhance absorption of carotenoids, plant nutrients that support immunity. So use fresh veggies as “chips” with this guacamole for double the health impact!
